Questions

If yours is not here, email me and it probably will be next week.

Before the day

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book nine to fifteen months out. If your date is sooner, ask anyway — I hold a few dates back each year.

Do we have to have an engagement shoot?

No, and most people do not. If you are nervous about being photographed it helps enormously, which is the only reason I offer it.

Can we meet first?

Please do. Half an hour, in person or on a call, with no obligation at the end of it.

What do you need from us?

A rough timeline, the names of anyone I should look out for, and a list of the group photographs you actually want.

On the day

Will you use flash?

Rarely, and never during the ceremony. Once the dancing starts and the light goes, yes.

How long do the couple portraits take?

Twenty minutes, and mostly we walk and talk. If you want longer we can, but nobody ever has.

What if it rains?

Then it rains. We take an umbrella out for ten minutes and some of the best frames I have came out of bad weather.

Do you photograph the ceremony from the aisle?

No. I stay to the side and use a long lens, so the only person walking down the aisle is you.

Afterwards

When do we get the photographs?

A handful of previews within a few days, and the full edited gallery inside six weeks.

Can we print them ourselves?

Yes. Print rights are included, so you can order from anyone you like.

Do you deliver the unedited files?

No — editing is most of the work and the culled frames are the ones where somebody blinked.
