The small print

Privacy policy

Last updated 7 September 2026. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Placeholder text. This page ships with the theme so you can see the layout. Replace it with your own terms before you launch — we are a theme, not your lawyer.

This site collects the smallest amount of information it can while still working. This page explains what that is, why it is collected, and how to make us delete it.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter. Nothing else is required to subscribe.
  • Comment details — the name, email and comment you type — when you leave a comment or rate a recipe.
  • Analytics about pages viewed and roughly where in the world you are, in aggregate. No names attached.
  • Order details, if you buy something: name, address, and what you bought. Card details go to the payment processor and never reach this site.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, we do not share your email with other people who send newsletters, and we do not track you across other websites.

Cookies

Cookies are used for three things: keeping you signed in if you have an account, remembering what is in your basket, and counting visits. Nothing is used for advertising. Blocking them will break the basket and nothing else.

How long we keep things

  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, which is one click at the bottom of every email.
  • Comments and ratings: indefinitely, so the recipe keeps its ratings — ask and they are removed.
  • Order records: seven years, because tax law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address on the contact page and you will get an answer within thirty days, usually the same week.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, subscribers are told by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
